The challenges of Rural Entrepreneurship

This is now a major opportunity for the people who migrate from rural areas or semi-urban areas to Urban areas. This paper aims at appreciating the need for and relevance of understanding conceptual paradigm of Rural entrepreneurship Development, Emerging entrepreneurial eco-system, Rural Entrepreneurs and the creation of Micro and small village enterprises. Entrepreneurship is a crucial element for each country that aims to be competitive and developed within knowledge-based world economy. The emerging domain of Rural Entrepreneurship envisions itself as a body of knowledge to accelerate the process of Rural Industrialization in the country. On the contrary it is also a fact that the majority of rural entrepreneurs is facing many problems due to not availability of primary amenities in rural areas of developing country like Nigeria. Lack of education, financial problems, insufficient technical and conceptual ability it is too difficult for the rural entrepreneurs to establish industries in the rural areas. Rural entrepreneurship stands as a vehicle to improve the quality of life for individuals, families and communities and to sustain a healthy economy and environment. It also focuses on the major problems faced by rural entrepreneurs especially in the fields of Marketing of products, financial amenities and other primary amenities, i.e. availability of electricity, water supply, transport facilities and required energy.
